Krita is a Photoshop/Paint.net alternative. It seems to offer a more Photoshop like functionality.

I work for a small university that uses PatchMyPC, We've told our art department head about Krita and it would be nice to be able to update it should they elect to use it. While the art majors have access to Adobe CC in a special lab, there are some more general-ed art classes (intro to photography classes, etc.) where the software might be useful. Any software I have floating around, I like to try and keep up to date, and PatchMyPC is the easiest way for us to do that.
