We have a lot of internal developers that would like to use this IDE tool.

The Eclipse IDE installer does not natively support silent installations, which prevents us from including this application in our catalog at this time. As a portable application, it can be extracted and run from any location. The vendor provides a ZIP file that users can extract to their desired location. However, our current detection scripts rely on a DisplayName and DisplayVersion being present in the Add/Remove Programs (ARP) entry.
To address this limitation, it may be possible to configure Eclipse as a Custom App, utilizing scripting to extract the zip file to your preferred installation directory, create shortcuts, and create the necessary ARP entries to enable compatibility with our detection scripts.
Hey Jason, according to a post I recently saw, Eclipse would support having the package extracted to a certain location. (https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=1111000&goto=1853083&#msg_1853083) Would it be possible to have some sort of custom "installer" for Eclipse in PMPC, where essentially you and your team keep the package up-to-date? That way, we could still enforce that the used Eclipse version is uptodate.
Unfortunately, the Eclipse IDE installer does not support silent installs.
