We currently rely on an ARP entry for DisplayName and DisplayVersion for detection. However, the IrfanView Plugins installer does not create an entry in Add/Remove Programs, preventing us from adding it to the catalog.
A potential workaround, once we have PSADT integration, would be to chain both the IrfanView and IrfanView Plugins installers together within the same script.

i want to push that as well, adding plugins via script is a pain because you need to update it for every new version manually
The plugins aren't really optional, they NEED to be there for compatibility with all the formats IrfanView supports
I can't tell, has this request been formerly closed or is there still hope for the plugins to be added as an option for installing/patching Irfanview?
I really don't know why someone would ever want Irfanview installed without the plugins included.

As a workaround for now, you can use the pre/post script feature and run the EXE with the silent command for the plugins.
I want to bring this back to attention. You already have the IrfanView application itself. But without the plugins, it is (at least for us) absolutely useless. I cannot update IV if there are no new plugins as well.
