Customers that desire to use Snagit without online activation or that have been instructed by Techsmith support to utilize this version to work around issues with the online activation version of Snagit.

The "public" installer for Snagit is not compatible with instances installed by the Snagit Passive installer. The passive installer requires TSC_SOFTWARE_CLIENTID and TSC_SOFTWARE_PASSIVELICENSEDATA arguments that are not existant in the "public" installer.
We have 50 000+ installs of Snagit Passive on shared devices and on devices with filtered Internet access (so, we cannot attach license with specific users), and the inability to keep it automatically updated is a huge miss.
