The user-based uninstall feature in recent Anaconda3 releases appears to be dysfunctional. To seamlessly update Anaconda3 from one version to the next, it is imperative to uninstall any existing version prior to upgrading to the latest one. Through my testing, it has been established that the only effective method for uninstalling Anaconda3 (user-based) is through the command line (non-elevated). Attempts to uninstall using an elevated command prompt or even manually through Add/Remove Programs result in errors.
As a consequence of the uninstallation failures, updating the application becomes problematic and error-prone. A resolution to this issue could be achieved if the vendor releases versions that appropriately handle the upgrade process, eliminating the need for uninstalling the previous version first. We look forward to the possibility of revisiting this request if/when such updates are implemented by the vendor.
