Add settings for Deferral Time

We need to be able to manuelly set the deferal time for both Updates and Apps. Both on the upper level (All) and per update/app. We need the same functionality as in App Deployment Toolkit. We can't and don't want to rely on stupid CM-settings.

It's totaly crazy to have to wait for days for an more or less critical update or app to install. Please fix this asap!

We use a version of PSAppDeploymentToolkit provided by a 3rd party and there we do set the desired defferal time/timeout. I guess that the version the use is modefied. Still this shold be possible in PMPC so that we can set the timeout to wathever is desired insted och whar ConfigMgr is capable to. If we could set this in PMPC we wouldn't have to overload our ConfigMgr site and for the Updates it's not possible to set lower value then 1 day and tha's not som nice.

Ahh, so for the note of 'no option what so ever to the set time between the defferals'... this is not something we can directly control.

How often the application retries to install is 100% on the management tool, such as Intune or ConfigMgr. We simply are returning a failure exit code, and your environment configuration determines when a retry will occur. For updates, you can set the schedule deployment re-evaluation client setting. Other things can trigger software update scans, such as a new software update deployment as well. For ConfigMgr apps, you can control this with the schedule re-evaluation for deployments client setting.

PSAppDeploymentToolkit is subject to the same limitation. You can select how long something can be deferred for or until a date/time.

PSAppDeploymentToolkit stamps the registry with defer history. If a software or update evaluation never happens, for example, the software will never retry in the same fashion that our tool does.

Neither PSAppDeploymentToolkit nor our tool can provide you with the EXACT time of the next evaluation as that is controlled externally to the software installation wrapper, i.e., Intune, WSUS, or ConfigMgr.

This is extremely important and we will not be able to implement PMPC in production without this option. A user needs to know the snooze time every time, before the Snooze button is pressed. A temporary/emergency workaround could maybe by to have Snooze time to always be the same and then inform that in the Note text.

You hade defferal times (how many times one can defer) and also option to set the time for the Notification timeout but no option what so ever to the set time between the defferals. Let's say that a user presses snooze, then there is no way for the user to know when the pop up will come back next time. It can be in a week or in 15 min. That is a bit crazy and wery hard to explain for the users. The issus is applicable both for Updates and Apps.

It shood be as it is in PSAppDeploymentToolkit. This is what users are used to and that's what the demand

Can you please provide more information?

We have the Manage Conflicting Process option which does let you set deferral times at the all, and per app/update level.
