Feature to allow notification to user to close out of app before it updates.
We patch Zoom Meetings and it would be nice to have a notification to a user while in a meeting that an update is ready for install and give them a deferral so they can finish the meeting without it closing the app.
For applications that you need to provide some interaction for updating, you could use an application for this scenario to update. We have looked into user interaction for software updates, but there's a very secure method we can realistically use for things executed via the Windows Update Agent.
I think that is a great option as well. However I do not think the user would get a notification with just the Install Behavior item. I could be wrong since I have not tried that in a while, but I thought it was for available installs only and even then the user would not see a notification unless they clicked Retry?
Thanks for the request! We are currently coding the following user voice https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ideas/PATCHMYPC-I-303 that will also be our solution for this request :). Let me know what you think.
Do you think notification via Software Update will be possible or should we just put that aside for now?

Well that is getting pretty close to complete there.
So how would this apply for a Software Update vs. an Application Deployment?
Here's how it would look when you deploy the application to update older version of installed applications https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/apps/deploy-use/deploy-applications#bkmk_exe-check
