We are migrating our Third Party Patching from SCCM to Intune, this also includes an increased coverage of Third Party applications we will end up patching.
Our desire for Intune Patching is to minimise the Notifications and Interface the user receives for various updates.
With SCCM an ADR collected all updates and deployed them in a "Group" the Deployment was set to Notify.
Intune assigns Updates on an Individual Basis and therefore can be more flexible for Assignment Notification Settings.
What this means is that we are considering doing tests in multiple scenarios for the Updates and understanding the install behaviour of that app update and whether we can just turn off the Notifications, and stop pestering the user. For example Google Chrome can update successfully and awaits Chrome to close. Therefore no Notification is needed.
An assumption I have is that PMPC do various install tests with the Packages created and therefore have an awareness of that User Interaction and behaviour when released.
So could there be a Knowledge Base Article for each update that suggests the "User Notification" and "Restart Needed State" for example?
Thank you
