When accessing the Database Scan option to query our existing SCCM database, the results show that for the majority (but not all) of the products that PatchMyPC supports that are also in our inventory, there are the exact same number of x86 installations as x64 installations.
PatchMyPC Support indicated the plan is to split the product queries to the
v_GS_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS
and v_GS_ADD_REMOVE_PROGRAMS_64
for products that install in the correct registry hive. This will help improve the 32/64-bit counts to be more accurate.
Im still seeing many applications with equal install number for both x86 and x64, so has this defaulted back to old ways?
most basic example is 7-zip in my case, i have the same amount of devices on both x64 exe, x86 exe, and x86 msi as i have the x64 msi which is the only one enabled.
This severly limits my use of auto publishing...
I'm marking this as shipped. We have improved the scanning to be much more accurate for almost all x86 vs. x64 products. This this improvement is available in preview build 1.5.5.2 shipped today. We are targeting this for a production release sometime this week.
