Adding support for custom detection rules greatly expands the possibillities for Custom Applications. I work a lot with schools and need to deploy applications where the developer often lacks care for the installer, making sure it registers correctly with correct version information etc. Being able to customize the detection script would help a lot in these situations, aswell as when needing custom deployments such as packaged fonts or the like.
