I mean, it's so easy to package ... why WOULDN'T we add it?
| What Patch My PC product is this new application request for? | Patch My PC Enterprise |
After several tests and research, it has been determined that this app cannot be added to the catalog, at this time. Adobe has made it difficult to 'package' this straight from the base installation files that they offer, using our standard technologies for publishing apps to our catalog. The install files are bundled/zipped in a way where it would take extra steps to reach and run the install. We are, though, working on a solution for this. We understand the importance of Adobe's CC, and will keep everyone updated as we move forward.
Any update on this?
Last I heard from support this would hopefully be added by the end of last year.
This is a CRITICAL application for our Mac fleet so having this added would make my year!
100% hope this has the absolutely highest focus for any macOS application.
This is the most requested and important application that we have for our macOS fleet, would be great if this could be added sooner rather than later, preferably yesterday.
We should be able to use the Adobe Creative Cloud macOS link located here: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/apps/download-install-apps/creative-cloud-apps/download-creative-cloud-desktop-app-using-direct-links.html
We're juggling a few internal priorities right now, but it's on our radar and we're hopeful we can add it in the near future.
Does anyone have a good plan for how to distribute the suite? Because it seems to work here:

Couldn’t I just attach my own information to the package? That’s exactly what I do with PDF-XChange as well, isn’t it?
You are correct when saying there are no "custom" installers for Adobe's Creative Cloud, but the link to download apps is "custom" to each paying and logged on user.
Here is a more detailed explanation:
Download links for subscription-based software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud for macOS, cannot be freely shared because vendors employ layered authentication and entitlement checks to ensure only licensed users can access their products.
Types of authentication and verification methods vendors may use for download accessibility:
License Binding (Software vendors tie download rights to a customer’s account or subscription)
Session-based authentication (The server issues a secure session token often a cookie or bearer token)
Expiring & Signed URLs (Companies often use pre-signed URLs generated by cloud services like AWS S3, Azure Blob, or CloudFront)
Request Validation (Hash or checksum binding - Referrer checks, Rate limiting / IP tracking)
Audit & Tracking (Vendors log each download request -user ID, time, IP, machine fingerprint)
DRM and License Enforcement (Certain vendors embed Digital Rights Management (DRM) or license enforcement in installers)
The download link is just one piece of the puzzle—Without the licensed user’s credentials and server validation, the download install file would not be accessible.
But we do want to keep an eye on this one and others like it for possible future consideration.
@Amber - We just go to Adobe's download page and download the creative cloud installer for macOS. I am not aware of any custom installer... https://www.adobe.com/download/creative-cloud. Could we at least have this "default" installer available and make a note that if you need a "custom" installer, to deploy it manually?
We are not able to add this to the catalog due the download for the installer being custom for each paying customer.
Any update on this?
