Multimedia redirection redirects video playback and calls in a remote session from Azure Virtual Desktop, a Windows 365 Cloud PC, or Microsoft Dev Box to the local device for faster processing and rendering.
The MSI provided by Microsoft installs the following two components:
Remote Desktop Multimedia Redirection Service
Browser extension for Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome browsers
Whilst included in the Microsoft gallery images, it can take time for these to update. It'd be great to be able to have this in the catalogue, enabling updates to be deployed as soon as possible as opposed to waiting for Microsoft. For those using custom images, at the minute this is another app that would require a manual deployment. This is due to the service not automatically updating.
