We’d love to use Patch My PC to deploy and manage browser extensions across our environment, especially for Chrome and Edge. In highly regulated or enterprise Microsoft environments, browser extensions often play a critical role in securing access, enforcing policies, and enabling key workflows. Right now, managing those extensions requires separate tools or manual processes, which adds complexity and increases the chance of inconsistencies or missed configurations.
This feature would allow us to:
Push and configure approved browser extensions using Intune
Enforce extension settings or policies where supported
Use Patch My PC’s existing deployment workflows to manage updates and visibility
Reduce the number of tools and consoles required to manage the browser experience
Improve end user consistency, especially in hybrid or remote environments
Browsers to prioritize:
Chrome (most used today)
Edge (growing due to Microsoft stack alignment)
Today, Advanced Insights for ConfigMgr already shows installed browser extensions, which is a great start. We’d love to see this evolve into full deployment support through Intune as well.
Long-term, this could tie into compliance and reporting. Being able to verify that required extensions are installed across devices would help us close gaps fast, improve security posture, and reduce support tickets.
This would save time, cut down complexity, and let us manage extensions the same way we already manage apps.
