Add a Method for Keeping Updates, ConfigMgr Apps, Intune Apps, Intune Updates synchronized with each other

Whenever we make an Intune App available (or required) in Company Portal, we'd also want that application to update upon new releases. So nearly every time we add a new Intune App we'd also want to configure the Intune Update version of the same application. Similarly for ConfigMgr Apps and the Updates node. This can be challenging to navigate in the current state of the tools.

Idea 1:

  • Add to the Right Click menu and indicator if that same app is enabled in any of the other nodes. So if one is in the Intune Apps node, and right click an enabled App, the Rt click menu would show if that app is also selected on the Intune Updates, Updates, or ConfigMgr Apps nodes. Then provide the option to jump to that entry on the appropriate node when clicked.

Idea 2:

  • Splitting the window into 4 nodes probably made more sense when there was only 2 nodes to start with. But I'm not sure it is the best way to organize it now since you have the same list of applications in all 4 nodes and the application list is very long. Therefore, there is enough interface space to have a single list of applications which can still be expanded/collapsed as current. But to the right of each application have a column for Updates, ConfigMgr Apps, Intune Apps and Intune Updates which a checkbox for each. That way one could find the app and if they wanted the an Intune App and Intune Update, check both of those boxes then do the configuration options.

  • To go one step further with this, sometimes when setting multiple right click options it requires right clicking multiple times because the menu goes away each time something is selected. instead of the right click menu, move the bottoms currently in the right panel to either top or bottom of the window, then put the right click menu in a panel in the space to the right. This way, when an application is selected in the left hand list, the equivalent of the right click menu is populated in the right hand panel. This would prevent having to right click the application between each setting that needs to be set.
