We currently do not have an easy way to create shorcuts on the user or public desktop or the user or public start menu. Customers often have this for weblinks or to internal file(shares) or custom applications. They used to create these with GPO preferences, where it was easy to create these and have shortcuts assigned to users etc. But as we move to fully Entra joined, this option is gone.
At the moment we create custom packages per shortcut but this is cumbersome. There is a 'weblink' option in Intune but this only targets the current user's start menu.
