Please add the official ChatGPT Windows desktop app (Microsoft Store ID 9NT1R1C2HH7J) to the Patch My PC catalogue.
Broad customer demand: ChatGPT now serves 300 million + weekly active users across thousands of organisations worldwide The Verge.
Public, signed installer: The app is distributed through the Microsoft Store, so the MSIX package is publicly downloadable and digitally signed by Microsoft/OpenAI OpenAI Help Center.
Silent, system-friendly deployment: IT admins can install or update silently with winget:
winget.exe install --id=9NT1R1C2HH7J --source=msstore \
--accept-package-agreements --accept-source-agreements --silent
This command supports SYSTEM-level installs and requires no reboot by default OpenAI Help CenterOpenAI Help Center.
The installer is lightweight (single MSIX), has no custom scripts, and its straightforward packaging should keep ongoing maintenance effort low.
Adding ChatGPT will help many customers—including us—patch and secure this rapidly adopted productivity tool.

We do not currently support MSIX installers. At this time, we support the deployment of apps in .EXE, .MSI, or .MSP formats only.

The original objection here was that the ChatGPT desktop app was MSIX/Store-only, which Patch My PC doesn't support. That's no longer the case — OpenAI now ships an official EXE installer for the Windows desktop app (see the "Windows App" release notes on the OpenAI Help Center), which fits PMPC's supported EXE/MSI/MSP formats. With ChatGPT Enterprise adoption growing, having it in the standard catalog (with automatic update detection, like Claude already has) would save admins from having to maintain it manually as a Custom App. Please reconsider adding it now that the format blocker is resolved.
