Application Request: Kabeen

Why is it useful?

Kabeen is a SaaS-based IT asset management and software lifecycle platform used by enterprises to gain real-time visibility into their endpoint and server fleet. It consists of two agents:

Kabeen User Agent — deployed on Windows/MacOS endpoints to inventory installed software, track license usage, and feed data into the Kabeen management console.
Kapsul Server Agent — deployed on Windows/Linux Servers to collect infrastructure-level telemetry (services, configurations, hardware).

Adding Kabeen and Kapsul to the PatchMyPC catalog would eliminate the current gap entirely by enabling silent deployment, version tracking, and automated updates through Intune/SCCM like any other managed applications.

Who would benefit from it?

Any organization using Kabeen for IT asset management — particularly mid-to-large enterprises with distributed, multi-entity Windows/MacOS fleets managed through Microsoft Intune or SCCM. These teams currently spend significant effort building and maintaining custom deployment pipelines for an application that should be as simple to deploy as any other line-of-business tool.

How should it work?

Both agents are distributed as standard Windows installers:

• Kabeen User Agent (MSI): https://app.kabeen.io/download/kabeen-setup.msi
• Kapsul Server Agent (EXE): https://app.kabeen.io/download/kapsul-setup.exe

The Kabeen MSI supports silent installation via standard msiexec flags (/qn /norestart). The Kapsul EXE supports Inno Setup silent flags (/SILENT /KEY=<api_key>).

Ideal PatchMyPC integration would handle:

  1. Detection via registry keys (HKLM uninstall entries for both agents)

  2. Silent install/upgrade with version comparison

  3. For Kapsul: pass-through of the /KEY parameter for API authentication
