Patch My PC Client Device Cleanup rules

In a large organisation, devices wont be manually removed one by one in the portal, meaning that the compliance data gets skewed. It would be good to be able to set a device cleanup rule (similar to the intune cleanup rule) where a device is removed from the advanced insights data if its not been seen in a selectable amount of days/weeks/months
This wouldn't be useful for everyone, as you may want to flag those devices not just remove them, but for some i would imagine it would be handy.

From merged item 8355:

Problem: No linkage between Intune deletion and portal presence
Proposal:

  • Introduce an optional integration setting:

    • “Respect Intune device lifecycle”

  • Behavior when enabled:

    • If a device is deleted in Intune → automatically:

      • Mark device as inactive, or

      • Remove it from the portal, or

      • Flag it as stale/decommissioned

  • Add a configurable action:

    • Delete immediately

    • Mark stale after X days

    • Require manual confirmation

  • Customer explicitly expects Intune to drive lifecycle

  • You noted need to “be careful not to assume deletion was intentional”

This makes it opt-in, avoiding risk for other customers (important design constraint you already called out live).
