It would be nice to have a standardised method that Patch My PC uses to enable third party software to detect that it's operating on a device. My use case is to detect the presence of PMPC with a third-party RMM tool, so whether this is checking for the presence of a file that every PMPC deployed/updated app puts on a device, a registry key that is set etc., as long as it's something that PMPC can decide upon and don't remove in future without notification and replacement with another method.
I've been advised that every installer will log to %programdata%\PatchMyPCIntuneLogs which I am using for detection currently and it's working, but am aware there's nothing stopping you renaming the folder in future because you've not committed to it being used in this way.
Jonny, thank you for this feature request. To summarize, the request is to allow a 3rd party RMM to detect if a device is being managed by Patch My PC and has active updates. I have a question on this ask. Since Patch My PC deploys app updates only via ConfigMgr or Intune then the device must be managed by one of these authorities. So the scenario is that an additional RMM is deployed on the device and at least doing active reporting?
I am not aware of this being a request prior, and is not a supported scenario today. With the current vote count this idea will remain as noted, but interested in your take on how you came across this need.
