Request for inclusion of Langdock Desktop App in the PatchMyPC catalog

Dear PatchMyPC Team,

I am writing to ask whether Langdock could be added to the PatchMyPC catalog as a software package: https://langdock.com/de/products/desktop

We are a company based in Germany and use Langdock as our AI solution across the whole organization. Since Langdock is updated frequently, the manual effort of packaging and deploying each new version via Intune is currently quite high for our IT team. By making Langdock available as a PatchMyPC package, we hope to significantly reduce this effort and keep all installations up to date more efficiently.

Could you please let us know whether this would be possible and what the next steps would be? We will gladly provide any additional information you need.

Installation details provided by Langdock:

There is currently not an MSI installation package provided for the Langdock Desktop App on Windows. However, the provided EXE supports unattended installation via the silent parameter "/S".

The command for x64 is:

  • Langdock-Setup-<version>-x64.exe /S

  • For ARM64, analogously, use the ARM64 artifact with "/S".

The installation is designed per user: the installation path, registry entries, and shortcuts are created in the context of the executing user. Intune or Patch My PC should therefore run the installation in the context of the intended user. To detect a successful installation, you can use the registry value HKCU\Software\com.langdock.desktop\InstallLocation. The default installation target is %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Langdock.

As an alternative for centrally managed deployment, the browser-based PWA can be rolled out via the enterprise policies of Chrome or Edge ("WebAppInstallForceList" or "WebAppSettings"). It is not fully equivalent to the native desktop app in functionality, but it is well suited for central distribution.

Thank you very much for your time and support.

Kind regards, Sebastian Knoch
