We are in Healthcare so data is sensitve (PHI, PII,etc) and we receive PDF's that are encrypted by Cute PDF. Besides being able to view PDF's, cute pdf writer also has the ability to encrypt pdf's and read encrypted PDF's which is vital for us.

This is a free security tool used by our security department, I'm sure others out there use it as well.
