We have many users with his installed but as we don't deploy updates for it, we rely n users to update manually which never happens :) This would really help as part of our Governance and Compliance. So ideally we would have users re-install from SCCM and obtain updates from PMP

This would also benefit us. This past April was an import month for Visual Studio patches and the community editions got us.
While you wait on official PMPC response, I wanted to give you a heads up that from my past experience that Visual Studio Enterprise and Pro, at least, can be obnoxiously painful to deploy from MECM (this might have improved recently, I need to circle back around to it), however updates for it should be available via Microsoft's Update Catalog (built into MECM).
