Go open a ticket with DeepL support and ask them to:
- Register a version number in ARP like a sane Windows app - Offer a proper offline installer or at least a published full package - Follow modern app deployment standards - not just hacky workarounds
PMPC can’t fix the installer - only DeepL can. But they won’t unless enough of us make noise. Polite pressure works. Let’s apply some. 😈
Unfortunately, this app is a no-go. The DeepL app does not include a Version number in the uninstall reg key (ARP entry) which our detection scripts rely on.
Is DeepLSetup.exe an "online installer"? Online installers generally download more content from the vendor in order to complete the install. If so, does the vendor provide a direct offline installer that's downloadable from the vendor's website as a standalone exe/msi? Without needing to call DeepLSetup.exe?
