We reviewed this request with the engineering team and determined that the behavior described should already be handled by our existing dependency update logic. When applications are updated, Patch My PC evaluates both parent and child dependency relationships and updates those references as needed. The team also noted that dependency scenarios are covered by automated testing.
Before considering this as a new feature request, we'd like to determine whether the issue is still reproducible. If you are still seeing this behavior in a current version of the product, please let us know or open a Support case so we can review the specific dependency chain and configuration involved.
For now, we'll leave this idea open while we await additional feedback. If we do not receive further information confirming an active issue, we will likely close this request as existing functionality.
Hello. We see something similiar. Deploying Cisco Anyconnect VPN and Cisco Umbrella. Cisco Anyconnect VPN is used as dependancy in Intune, with no assignments. When we provide new sources for both and sync to Intune, it keeps the older verison of Cisco Anyconnect VPN as dependancy and not move it to the newer version.
Hello,
The checkbox that is in the Intune options should ensure that dependencies are kept up to date if both apps are managed by Patch My PC. If only one of them is managed, then all we can do is update the Intune application that we managed.
Do you have a specific scenario that is not working?
