Add kubectl to patch my PC

Unfortunately, we will be unable to add kubectl to our catalog because this is a portable app. We are unable to add this app as it does not include an uninstall registry key (ARP entry) which we use for detection (including a DisplayName and Version number). Another issue is that the .exe could live anywhere on disk for any system. A possible workaround would be to repackage the app into a MSI and add as a Custom App.
Recast software does kubectl, is there a reason pmpc can't?
