I'd like to move from on-prem publisher to PmPC cloud, but until I can adjust when apps and updates are deployed I can't. Currently, I have my sync setup at 10 p.m. daily. If an app is set as available, it is immediately deployed to the company portal. Updates are packaged but not deployed to users until +2 days at 7 a.m. for most, although I do have a few apps that require different deployment times.
We have 800+ university classroom computers, and updates need to install outside of classroom hours of M-F 8am - 10pm.
We're working on adding a separate update ring sync schedule which would allow you do e.g. do app creations on a weekly basis, but ring advancement on a daily basis. That should address the limitation outlined by Michael and we'll mark this as shipped once we do.
This would allow some flexibly for those who want to 'Sync Weekly' but have assignments start Mid week.
Can currently do this with Update Rings (Can't create an assignmetn if you don't sync, I get it), so this would be the next best option.
Now that we have an actual Update Rings feature in PMPC Cloud, we'd love to hear what other scenario this feature would solve for you!
Replicating the "update ring" capability available in the Publisher is a must.
If you can improve it, even better!
