Today, the option to trigger a SCCM software update point sync is only available when the SUP is co-located with the site server. We've got a lot of feedback this option would be valuable when the SUP is remote from the site server.
This feature shipped in today's preview build (1.5.4.3). Please give it a try and let us know what you think! This feature will probably ship to the production update channel within a week.
