If i deploy an app/update and have enabled the Conflicting process option to prompt the user it would be nice to have an option for the UINotification process to provide a progress bar.
Example: Zoom app is deployed with conflicting process option enabled. As a user I currently have zoom open so i get a popup giving me 2 options. I can snooze the install or i can "Close all and install". If i select "close all and install" my zoom app closes and the the installation begins but i dont know when that install is finished. Aka i dont know when i can re-open zoom.
It would be nice to have an option for the UINotification process to show the user when the install is done so they know they can re-open zoom.
As a follow-up to my previous comment, we recognize that some customers may still want an installation progress bar in addition to an installation success notification.
We are tracking the progress bar request as a separate UserVoice idea so we can better understand interest in that specific functionality. If an installation progress bar is important to your organization, please consider upvoting the new idea so we can track demand for it independently.

Thanks for the suggestion. While this idea proposes displaying a progress bar when conflicting processes are detected, the feedback seems to be centered around users not knowing when the installation has finished while using MCP.
We already have another idea open for that scenario, and we're currently working on an option to show a notification after a successful installation. Since both ideas are trying to solve the same underlying problem, we're merging this one into the existing idea so we can keep all related feedback in one place.
My company requires a progress indicator to be displayed when applications are closed for a new version to be installed. This allows users to understand the installation status, estimate how long the process will take, and know when the installation is complete and it is safe to reopen the application. Because this functionality is required, I am unable to use PMPC to package these applications and must instead package them manually.
A progress bar or status notification for application installs and updates would be a valuable enhancement.
Currently, when affected applications are closed during an update, the notification disappears. Users can no longer see the installation progress and do not receive a completion message once the update has finished. As a result, they have no clear indication of when it is safe to reopen their applications and continue working.
Providing a persistent progress indicator and a final completion notification would improve transparency, reduce user uncertainty, and help minimize workflow interruptions during application updates.
This feature would really improve the user experience, especially for apps that take some time to install. And also when apps need to close an open process, it would be good for the user to be able to know directly when they can start using the app again. Instead of having to refresh Company Portal. For us this would be relevant in PMPC Cloud. Before our app-migration the users were used to this type of progress bar from PS-ADT.
In addition to progress, it should have a "Complete" dialogue that the user dismisses when it's complete, like PSADT has. I don't want them having to guess if it finished or if the progress box just died.

This is definitely missing. Scappman did notify the user, when the installation was done. This should be implemented soon, as the user experience is worse than before. Thanks.
A progress bar is possible in PSADT and would be nice to have for all installs with PMPC as well!
Is this something that is still being considered for implementation?
We are switching to PatchMyPC from manually packaging and patching using PSADT and it is a bummer that we can't show progress to end-user (even a dummy one that just keeps circling) during the installation.
