The issue with adding it to the local content repository is that we still do hash validation within the Publisher for extra security. In other words, the hash in the catalogue must match the hash of the downloaded file and also files in the local content repository. If the hash changes because the MSI changes per customer within their vendor portals, that will make it impossible for us to implement.
However if I'm wrong on this, it would be good if someone could provide the following information to help us investigate:
Previous submission suggested this might not be doable due to each site generating it's own custom MSI/installer. Could this not be accommodated via the "ThirdPartyLicensedProductDownloads" folder/mechanism ?
I just wanted to let you all know we haven't forgotten about this request. We are working through some others at the moment that more unique customers are following. If any others come across this idea, please vote it up if it's one you would like to see added.

Can the 2 issues be merged? The hash for the MSI does not change per customer as indicated in 604.
