Home Updater - Import and Export Settings for New Installs
I didn't see this anywhere on the new v5 PMPC, but can we please have an option to export/import our current list of applications? It would help for reinstalls of new systems.
My apologies if I did miss it - hopefully someone will post that info here.
Thanks for commenting on this. Before we start any work, I'm just looking to make sure we fully understand.
Are you looking for a way to export all apps currently installed from Home Updater, then import them into Home Updater on another PC so they’re all enabled at once and you just click Start to install those apps? Let me know if that’s what you had in mind.
Looking back on previous posts, it appears I described how it was done in version 4...
"Uninstaller > Export icon"
A .csv file is created with a list of installed applications.
The only other "export/import" function that I'm aware of in v4 is...
"Options > Export Settings to PatchMyPC.ini"
Allows settings to be imported on another machine.
The .ini file needs to be in the same folder as the PMPC exe.
Both functions would be helpful on new machine setups.
Actually, that is not a feature I requested.
I probably did a +1 on another member's post.
I requested that "Enable Download Mode Only" in version 4 be re-instated in
version 5.
(sorry - hit enter too soon)
it would also make it easy to reinstall those apps on either the next clean install or send to people so they could install the same apps.
My idea would be a simple text export of all PMPc installed apps - something similar to the earlier version.
This would make it easy to store locally.

The export function was available in v4, but was not carried forward in v5.
Not exactly a "new" feature.
In v4 -
Click on Uninstaller > click on Export icon.
A .csv file is created with a list of installed applications.
