I am writing to propose the development of an integration between Patch My PC Cloud and ServiceNow. The goal of this integration is to automate the creation and closure of change tickets for application updates, thereby streamlining our update management process.
Automated Change Ticket Creation:
Automatically generate change tickets in ServiceNow for every application update released or published through Patch My PC Cloud.
Include relevant details such as application name, version, update description, and scheduled deployment time.
Automated Ticket Closure:
Implement a mechanism to automatically close change tickets once the update deadline is reached or a new update is published and the update has been successfully deployed.
Ensure that closure notifications are sent to relevant stakeholders.
Enhanced Workflow Efficiency:
Reduce manual intervention and administrative overhead associated with managing change tickets.
Improve accuracy and timeliness of update deployments and record-keeping.
Increased Efficiency: Streamline the update management process, allowing our IT team to focus on more strategic tasks.
Improved Accuracy: Minimize the risk of human error in ticket creation and closure.
Enhanced Compliance: Ensure that all updates are properly documented and tracked in accordance with our change management policies.
Could you please provide information on the feasibility of this integration and any steps required to implement it? Additionally, if there are any prerequisites or specific configurations needed, your guidance would be greatly appreciated.
This is an idea we've been asked for a lot and would like to understand more deeply.
We are unlikely to build the middleware needed to provide an end-to-end solution.
Instead, we would look to create the necessary webhooks that could be used by multiple platforms. It would then be up to the customer to react to those webhooks as they see fit.
For ServiceNow that most likely means using ServiceNow's Flow Designer to perform the desired action when triggered by our webhooks.
Please let us know if that sounds like a workable solution and if not, why not.

Since PmPC Cloud now has Update Rings, This Idea should aslo include the option to set when a change is created in ServiceNow. For example, the change request will not be created unless the update is in Ring 3 and then closes once it reaches Ring 5.
It would be nice if there was a way to implement that it would only close if installation (Success) of an update reaches +80%
This is something that would greatly benefit our packaging & deployment teams. We have a highly structured change management process, any help with auto creating change/tickets would greatly help us.
This is exactly what I'd like to see implemented!
This would be very helpful for us as we expand our use of Patch My PC. As part of an organization that needs to document all application update rollouts as Changes within ServiceNow, this would tremendously augment our existing workflow.
We would absolutely take advantage of this integration.
This would give back hundreds of hours of work a year for us.
This is exactly what I'd like to see implemented!
