Currently, there’s no option to remove stale devices from Reporting.
Please introduce a “Device Cleanup” setting in the UI. This feature would be disabled by default, but customers could enable it to automatically clean up devices that haven’t checked in for more than X months.
The cleanup process could work similarly to Intune’s Device Cleanup rules, where devices are simply hidden from reports so they don’t skew the data..
Hi,
Could you provide any indication of when this functionality might be implemented, or what priority it currently has on the roadmap?
Additionally, is there a specific number of votes or level of community interest required to peed up development ?
In my opinion, the ability to automatically identify and remove obsolete/stale devices is a fundamental device management capability and would provide significant value for organizations that want to maintain accurate and clean inventories.
Great that the status switched to "IN DEVELOPMENT" 👍
Is it possible to use the REST API for identifying clients that haven’t checked in for specific time and delete them? As a temporary workaround until the Device Cleanup feature is released...
Admin note - updated Status to 'Under Consideration'. We are no longer using the Status 'Planned' but we are planning to do this one. Please provide any additional info on what you'd like to see here in the comments.
I know this suggestion is for an automated option, but we currently have a manual 'delete' option to remove old clients from reporting in. I just wanted to make sure our users know how to do this in the meantime: https://docs.patchmypc.com/patch-my-pc-cloud/manage/client-management/deployment/manual-delete
totally agree, allow for an optional device cleanup rule like intune, so that if a device is more then x days then its deleted.
