Currently, when updates are installed (using Microsoft Edge as an example), there is no mechanism to instruct the application to automatically relaunch once the update process has completed. This causes frustration for end users, as it is unclear whether the update has finished successfully. At a minimum, end users should be notified when the update process is complete, allowing them to manually restart the application if it cannot be relaunched automatically by PMPC.
We are working on improving this scenario.
We are currently developing a new setting that will allow customers to configure an "Installation Complete" notification, so users know when they can relaunch the applications that were previously closed.
100% agree with this one. Having to add a pre and post script that uses PSADT to launch over complicates the update.
