I am writing to ask whether it would be possible to add or enable the following functionalities within the app management system:
The ability to decide or schedule a specific time at which updates are applied
Notifications sent to the user’s laptop once an update installation has been completed, so the user will know when to relaunch the app
The option to postpone an update and reschedule it for a preferred time
These features would greatly improve flexibility and user experience, particularly in managing updates without disrupting active work.
Please let me know if any of these capabilities are already available, planned for a future release, or could be considered for implementation.
There are 3 separate requests with this idea:
1st Idea: (Wont' Implement) Update Scheduling. For ConfigMgr, we aren't going to build scheduling into Publisher, as we expect our customers to use ConfMgr. ADRs. For Intune, we have Update Rings. But Intune DOES NOT allow us to specify a time with a degree of accuracy that would be desirable.
The 2nd idea: (Noted).Linked to a previously submitted Idea (See https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ideas/PATCHMYPC-I-3364
3rd Idea: (Won't implement). Our managing conflicting process Feature already allows you to defer the install. However, we don't control the install mechanism, which means there is no way for us to offer the user to reschedule the Install.
