Core idea
Introduce a phased deployment mechanism where software updates automatically progress through deployment rings only after meeting a defined success or compliance threshold (for example, 80% successful installs) in the prior ring, rather than advancing solely on time-based delays.
Problem being addressed
Current Intune-based deployments (and Patch My PC on top of Intune) rely on time-based rings (Day 0, Day 3, Day 7, etc.).
There is no native way to automatically gate progression based on real deployment health (success/failure/compliance).
What was explicitly discussed
A customer asked whether updates could automatically move to the next ring only after reaching a target success/compliance rate. Similar to how ConfigMgr "Phased Deployments" work.
The response confirmed:
This is not currently supported in Intune.
Patch My PC does not currently provide this capability for Intune-based deployments.
Similar behavior exists in Config Manager (phased deployments), but not in Intune.
