Software updates from ConfigMgr/WSUS always install as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and that's unconfigurable, unlike ConfigMgr Apps & Intune Apps (inc Intune Updates) which are configurable to run-as the user.

Over time we see users install especially browsers (Firefox and Chrome) and other apps in user profile. Make sure PMPC detects this and «move to managed» install. If not we see old unsecure unpatched software you dont see as applicable for updates.

we use sccm to patch, that will not work here ? We should use intune ?
The user-based functionality will work for ConfigMgr apps, Intune Apps, and Intune Updates.
It would not work for the WSUS based updates (ConfigMgr Updates).
So we are talking abut userbased softare updates and not applications ?

At this time we have the code in place to support user-based installations but we have not adding any to the catalog.
I cant see it working. Is there someting we need to enable ?
