reMarkable is a company that has a note taking tablet. They have a companion Windows Desktop app called reMarkable Desktop App

Note: Customers generally have two viable ways to install & update this application successfully: either grant users administrative rights or use an endpoint privilege-management solution that can safely elevate only the trusted executables the app requires. If the customer environment doesn't support either option, the installation won't succeed because the vendor's installer requires elevated permissions while at the same time running as the user. The vendor has been contacted multiple times regarding this issue, but they have not taken any steps to address the problems related to running the application under the SYSTEM account.
At the end of the day, this is a limitation with the vendor's installer. We don't have any control over how vendors design or implement their installers, so we have to work within the constraints they give us, even when those installers create challenges or behave inconsistently.
