Hello Patch My PC Team,
We have noticed that the currently published version of Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager (JIT version) has significantly slower startup times. Devolutions has recently introduced a new PreJIT version of the application, which substantially improves application launch performance.
Devolutions has acknowledged this issue and recommends the PreJIT build as a solution. More information can be found in their forum post:
https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/51868/rdm-client-always-slow-to-start
Would it be possible for Patch My PC to switch the existing Remote Desktop Manager package from the JIT version to the new PreJIT version, or alternatively provide the PreJIT build as a separate package?
We believe this change would greatly improve the user experience, especially in environments where the application is launched frequently.
Thank you for considering this request.
Kind regards,
Dominic
The ARM64 version is shipping today
I will get to work on this!
Hi Dan,
I just wanted to check if there is any update on this request.
Since your last reply, at least two new Remote Desktop Manager releases have been published, and the current version is now 2026.2.16.0. Unfortunately, Patch My PC is still distributing the JIT build, which continues to have noticeably slower startup times.
Is the switch to the PreJIT build still planned, or has the approach changed? We would really appreciate having either the PreJIT build replace the current package or be offered as a separate application.
Thanks again for looking into this, and I appreciate all the work the team puts into Patch My PC.
Kind regards,
Dominic
Thanks for alerting us to this, I use this app myself and have noticed it getting slower as of late.
I think we will switch to this and add a separate ARM variant, but we may delay this until the next version is released.
