We would like Patch My PC Cloud to provide a mechanism for end users and IT administrators to initiate an application repair directly from Company Portal.
This could be implemented in one of several ways:
A dedicated "Repair" deployment option alongside Install and Uninstall
Automatic creation of a companion repair application when publishing software
Integration with existing application deployments where Company Portal exposes a Repair action
Any alternative implementation that provides a simple and supported self-service repair experience
In modern Intune-managed environments, application corruption, broken configurations, missing files, or failed updates are common support scenarios. Today, remediation often requires:
Helpdesk intervention
Manual uninstall/reinstall actions
Proactive Remediations
Custom scripts and bespoke repair packages
Providing a native repair capability through Patch My PC Cloud would:
Reduce service desk workload
Improve end-user self-service capabilities
Reduce application downtime
Align with the self-service model encouraged by Microsoft Intune and Company Portal
Eliminate the need for organisations to build and maintain separate repair packages for common third-party applications
Microsoft Edge repair
Adobe Acrobat repair
GlobalProtect repair
Citrix Workspace repair
Zoom repair
Other Patch My PC managed applications that support silent repair parameters
Where vendors support a silent repair command line, Patch My PC could automatically leverage those parameters. For applications without a native repair mechanism, organisations could optionally define custom repair commands during application creation.
Currently, the Company Portal only supports install and uninstall actions.
If Microsoft were to implement 'Repair' actions, Patch My PC will reconsider this idea.
