"Who will rid me of this turbulent persistent pop-up"

Definition: A persistent pop-up that resists normal closing methods is typically called adware or a malicious browser notification. When it completely traps your screen or refuses to go away, it is also referred to as an unclosable pop-up, browser locker, or scareware.

While I fully appreciate the perceived security threat, the iron fist of compliance, and the need to simplify maintenance management, that all take precedence over user useability / productivity do we really need to put up with a draconian pop up, dominating 1/6th of the screen, and so persistent that even removing all other monitors, forcing the laptop screen as Primary, and reconnecting the monitors, it comes back to the biggest central screen – oh and it isn’t a browser notification so can’t disable it that way but it sure feels like a McAfee AV scam alert…

Why can’t we hide the notification AND then re-enable/activate it at our pleasure.

    Steve,

Please provide more information about where you are seeing this Pop-up (Publisher or Cloud?) and screenshots of the Pop-Up. We'd like to help you.

I'm not sure if it is Publisher or cloud, but it is the pop up that usually offers a defer, but not always.
If it doesn't offer a defer option, it takes up 1/6th of the screen, and covers most of the system tray.
I do have a work around
Open Task manager, find the PSAppDeployment app, find the sub process and then you can minimise that.
Doing so clears the screen and as far as I can tell the a forced install never happens

What notification are you referring to? Seems a little vague so far.
This idea has a lot of feelings, but I am missing the specifics of what is causing those feelings... Any screen shots of the notification?

Is this the pending update notification with the close apps or snooze option?
