As I understand it, base installation applications are imported/updated during the sync schedule. It would be great if you could set an offset from when the patch was released/published for when the base application gets updated. We do required application deployments and this would allow us to use the base install update feature without automatically updating everyone immediately. How I'd like the workflow to go:
1. Patch gets synced
2. ADR runs and deploys patch over X number of days
3. After the patch has run its course and most devices are updated, update the base install
If we could say apps get synced X days after the corresponding patch is published, we could have this workflow automated easily.
@Scott, just shipped in build 1.5.3. It's now configurable between 1-14 days.
Swwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! Any chance the 7 days could be configurable to account for longer patch cycles?
Shipped in today's preview build 1.5.2.2
Yeah, seems like the most likely scenario. New app objects need to have deployments created anyways.
I assume this would also only be needed when you choose the drop-down to update an application in-place?
+3 to this...
Currently we are doing scripted workarounds for this (and other things like uninstalls/cust icons/cust description etc)
Yeah it would only be needed for when the base installs update to the next version, not the initial import.
Interesting, I see that value here. I'm assuming this would only be required for application updates right?
