Build a function to check which has the newest update version, the MSI or the EXE
For example, VLC Media Player, as I am aware, has its latest MSI update from November 2023, while the EXE version was updated in June 2024. It would be nice to have a recommendation on which installation type has the newer updates in the app deployment itself.
I would say the example for VLC Media Player is edge case and is the only application in our catalogue where the version differs between the MSI or EXE installers, and therefore is the only application that will benefit from this feature request.
The vendor has confirmed they will release the MSI for the next version 3.0.22.
I don't think I've seen a software vendor do this before.
