In Publisher, it's possible to create notifications based on products/software and other criteria (e.g. All, Success only, or Error only) to different webhooks.
This enables customers to send notifications to different application owners or teams within the business. For example, a certain person might be responsible for certain software, or the security team will want to see all security updates with a CVE associated with them.
It would be nice to have the same option in the Cloud Portal
My request/idea is similar: I would like to have the ability to send ConfigMgr product update notifications with granularity based on individual applications, directed to the respective app owners.
Ideally, these alerts should be configured to go to a shared mailbox (via SMTP), so they can be tracked centrally.
Using Teams webhooks would require creating a separate channel for each application/app owner, which doesn’t seem scalable.
Do you have any suggestions or recommendations on how we could best inform app owners when their applications are being updated?
Thank you in advance for your support.
Our team also uses this feature from Publisher heavily, as it's a nice way to separate out notifications which we need to see versus ones we don't need to see and add to notification fatigue. We're migrating to Cloud Publisher right now and sorely miss this feature.
For us, this feature is essential for managing pilot testing when a new version of an application is released. The Application Owner must be aware of any changes and be prepared for testing and approval. They should also have the ability to stop the deployment in case of a failed update.
