We use it to automate Kiosks for auto logon type stuff using the edge browser. The driver and edge browser are version specific. We've found that if edge gets ahead of the driver, issues arise in our automations.
Its just an executable, no real install which could be problematic since its not standardized but might be ok for an App install and not a "patch" per say.
This software is not an installable application, it is a standalone binary that launches/runs without installation. At this time we can't easily support standalone .exe's.
The largest issue we will have with this today is detection, because the .exe could live anywhere on disk for any system.
I appreciate there are ways to do this if you can package yourself. However, given the workflows we operate in within our catalogue (of looking in the registry for installed software or in fixed / predictable locations on disk) we cannot support this application today.
I'll mark as a for 'future consideration', though, and recommend you all comment/vote on this feature request: https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ideas/PATCHMYPC-I-2733.
As we're developing a SaaS solution (https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ideas/PATCHMYPC-I-661) and thinking about custom apps (https://ideas.patchmypc.com/ideas/PATCHMYPC-I-1303), I'd like to think we could at least keep this type of requirement in mind.
Still needed.
We need this at Humana 60K plus people need it.
